Trends

So there are not a lot of trends I buy into. I have the oldest iPhone and I only broke down and got it last year as my deployment present. I don’t have a radio in my car so I would have no clue what music is cool now although I hear Miley Cyrus is trying to make a come back…. maybe everyone should break their car radio like mine. I’ve been wearing the same jeans for 3 years and I don’t know what the brand is, Cheap Monday I think? I don’t get what the big deal about Jen Hatmaker is. And I’ll never wear feathers in my hair…. is that still cool?

But there is one trend that I buy into every single year hook, line, and sinker. PUMPKIN EVERYTHING. We already know my problem with candy corn pumpkins.

But I made my own pumpkin syrup the other day so that I wouldn’t spend money on Pumpkin Spice Lattes and sweet. Lord. mamajamma. So I’m sharing with you my mojo. It was easy to make and every morning I mix it with the cream in my coffee and it’s like an explosion on Pinterest and Fall in my mouth.

Your pumpkin obsessed out of touch friend.

Ingredients:

1.5 cups water
1.5 cups sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1 cup pureed pumpkin

Heat water and sugar in a pot until sugar is dissolved, don’t boil. Add spices and pumpkin and stir. Cook for 5 minutes, don’t let it boil. Let it cool and put it in a cute mason car or whatever container you’d wish.  Just add it to Half & Half in your coffee or if you have a fancy espresso machine you can make your own lattes. I also have it on good authority it goes great over a pound cake… just sayin’. There ya have it!
