Memorial Day- Run to Remember

Ever since we became part of the military family, Memorial Day takes on a new meaning. There’s nothing like perspective when you see your neighbor or friend lose someone in the war on terror. One of the greatest sorrows is that after the initial shock or news frenzy, some of those soldiers are forgotten. Lets not forget them anymore. Memorial Day can be about something bigger than BBQs or a day off work. It can be about remembering and honoring the lives lost. Each soldier has a name, a family, a story. We can’t forget that.

On Monday I will be running 6 miles in honor of the 6 years I’ve been married to my soldier. Will you pledge some miles? You can walk, run, skip… I don’t care. But while you’re doing it, remember and say a prayer for the families who are aching this Memorial Day in ways that are indescribable.

Yall are awesome and I’m grateful for you.

I churned out a slow 3 wearing blue here in Dupont. Way to go Martha!

  • Love the sentiment behind this. There is nothing like being surrounded by soldiers to keep your focus where it should be!
