My fam was here for my 29th birthday on Friday and it was a low key day. Birthdays with a baby= totally not a birthday rager. It was a hilarious and very quick lesson that birthdays from now on will be a bit different. You see, I go ALL OUT for birthdays. For my brother I have thrown a bowling party where I made 50 t-shirts with his face on it, I ordered sumo wrestling suits and had a party with all his friends while we had a wrestling party out front of his apartment with root beer kegs. My best buds and I may or may not have made him an inappropriate pinata filled with swiss rolls and white castle burgers (his favs). I have thrown a surprise birthday party for my hubbs (only to find out he doesn’t so much love big parties) and kidnapped him to take him on a mountain fishing trip with some of his best friends John and Turner. I used to make up dances for my mom and dress up as a waitress and serve a fancy dinner to my dad. I’ve done this since I can remember. I love big birthday parties. I cannot WAIT for Bud’s birthdays. They are going to be HUGE!! HUGE I TELL YOU!! All of our birthdays were a really big deal growing up thanks to my mama. She knew how to throw a party.
So having my family out here in WA for my birthday was awesome. We went on a hike that morning to the sound. Then I hung out with my Bud all day getting him to nap and getting in tons of playtime on the floor while everyone ran errands. Then we went out to supper to Jake’s while Bud had a little fuss-fest because he was up past his bedtime. When we got back to the house they had gotten me a delicious ice cream cake, tons of candy, and really sweet gifts. Yay birthdays!
Sam got me the sweet gift. He found a designer on Etsy to make a locket with the saying, “I love you to the moon and back” because that’s what I say to Bud every night. 10 points for my beau.
Here is my promise- I’m going to live up my last year as a 20-something even though my brother kept saying, “HAPPY 30TH!! We’re rounding up…” I’ll round up my foot across your face Graham.
